I assume you’re referring to Manhattan and not the entire state. There are very few needlework stores left in Manhattan, because of the very high store rents. There’s Annie and Company, 1325 Madison (bet 93rd and 94th), mostly needlepoint with some knitting and cross stitch. None of the major craft chain stores (Michaels, AC Moore) are in Manhattan. If you are willing to venture away from Manhattan, there are Michaels stores in Queens, Staten Island, and in New Jersey. If you’re particularly interested in cross stitch, I highly recommend Where Victoria’s Angels Stitch (www.wvas.net) in Clifton, NJ – about 15 miles from Manhattan and easily reachable by bus. There’s also Edwardian Needle in Bloomfield (www.edwardianneedle.com); it’s geared mainly towards needlepoint though they have an excellent selection of threads suitable for cross stitch.
New Yorkers, any big cross-stitch/craft shops in your area?
Where can I get the original Disney cross stitch kits from?
Where I used to get them doesn’t sell them anymore.
Does anyone know of any websites I could get them from?
UK only.
I think you’ll find that designerstitches.co.uk is the official Disney website. I ordered some official Disney/Pooh Bear threads from them for cross stitch patterns that were in a magazine. I’ve also seen kits in Hobbycraft. Hope that helps.
