About me
Hi, my name is Loes (pronounced [lus], like a very short version of Lucy) and currently I live in Dublin, Ireland. Originally I’m from a small town in the Netherlands, and I couldn’t wait to get out of there as a teenager. Since then I’ve taken every opportunity to live abroad: I spent a few years in Finland, a semester in Germany, a year travelling around India (and a bit of Thailand) and then I moved to Dublin two years ago. Because of this, I’m the wanderer of the family, so to say, and whenever I get back after a longer stay abroad, the first question I’m asked is when I will pack my bags again. The thing is, I always plan to stay and settle down, but I guess I’m not too good at that. Oh well.
I work in an Online Media company, where I’m responsible for the UK Marketing department. After years of not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, except live in different countries, it felt great to finally get a job that I really like. My boyfriend, Marc, recently started working in the same company, but in the Dutch Marketing department. Yes, he’s Dutch as well. We are from the same area in the Netherlands, attended the same university at the same time, where we took the same courses, hung out at the same spots and even knew some of the same people, yet we only met here in Dublin. I never could have imagined that I’d move to Ireland and end up with a Dutch guy, but there you are.
I don’t believe in coincidence, thinking in boxes and the phrase "If you can’t see it, it doesn’t exist". I do believe in synchronicity, dreaming, magic and Wish Jars. I try to listen more to my intuition and less to my mind, but I find it quite hard sometimes. I love symbols and rituals. I don’t like following the beaten track, I think everyone should find their own paths. I can’t pass a book shop and not go in. I would love to live in a house with a seperate room for all my books. I have a 13 year old turtle named Napoleon, but he lives with my parents in the Netherlands.
If you’d like to contact me, you can do so here.
