im after a site that will turn a photo of my friends dog i have on my laptop into a cross stitch kit with all the thread and fabric, i dont want a site that takes however much money off u then expects u to post the photo to them i want one i can directly upload the photo to.
anyone has any ideas then let me know im willing to go up to £40 dependent on size
This one any good? http://www.needleworld.co.uk/acatalog/Photokits.html
The ones you send off are quite good, but I suppose it takes that bit longer.
Make sure you have a really good, clear photo and be prepared to use the chart as a guide rather a set in stone you-must-stitch-this-colour-here chart!!
Good luck!

Hi,
I do cross-stitch frequently and I have done photos of my family and dogs, the best site I found is Stoik Cross stitch Stoik.com.
I paid for PM Stitch Creator 3.0 software, and downloaded from the Stoik site. I have found that it is well worth the money, you scan the pic into your Computer and choose your floss (DMC or Anchor). I found that having the picture on hand when choosing your floss is the best way, or you can tell the program how many colors you want to use and it will pick the colors it thinks are appropriate, you can then have the program print you a counted cross stitch pattern to go by. the program also lets you know what colors of floss you will need, you will have to calculate how many skein, the program may tell you. I usually have a 3pg x 3page pattern print out, that way the blocks are are large enough to see the floss numbers/symbols or whatever way is easiest for you. I’ve looked at many programs for custom patterns and found that I prefer using this program.
If you don’t think this is something that you’d enjoy using you can try:

Just copy and paste any of the links above into your browser.
Good luck, I hope you find what you’re looking for.

I have given you a link to a site where you can download your own trial version of a pattern maker. All you will have to do when you download it is to import your picture from where you have it stored on your laptop to the pattern maker. The pattern maker will do it all for you.
I have made loads of patterns with my cross stitch program.Have a go it costs nothing.
