  @VickyBunny1 When you knot your threads it causes puckering of the fabric. The ultimate goal of any needle work is for the back to look as neat as the front. This keeps stray floss ends from showing through light colored Aida cloth and puckering of the fabric when you prepare the piece for mounting and framing.
