i need an instruction sheet only to a cross stitch kit.?

Posted by admin on March 25th, 2010 and filed under cross stitch kits | 6 Comments »

I bought a stamped cross stitch kit several months ago and have lost only the chart that tells which symbols are what colors. the kit was a little costly and i can’t afford to go buy it all over again just for that one piece of paper. I’ve contacted the company and has no response. The name of the kit is Hummingbird & Fuchias. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a Million!

Does the kit have a colored picture of the pattern? If yes, then your problem is easily solved. :-)
First lay out all the different colored embroidery floss that came with the kit. Obviously, each symbol represents one color.
Now carefully compare the colored picture & where each color fits. Then check out what symbol seems to represent that color area.
Soon you will have deciphered all the symbols :-)
Think of it as a puzzle or mystery that needs to be solved – all the clues are in front of you ;-) )

Hope this helps
All the very best & enjoy

You should try looking in the public library because they have a lot of books with cross stitch patterns and you may find it there.
I hope someone can help you here.

Try the contacting the manufacturer again. It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.

You may just have to buy another kit.

The kits are sealed and a merchant would not want to open the kit to make a copy and then have reduce the price of the kit to sell it.

Try asking on yahoo groups there are so many for cross stitch.

You could also try finding cross stitch blogs and ask there.

Contact cross stitch magazines someone may be able to help you.

Doesn’t look good on the manufacturer not responding to you.

            Good luck.

Some of these answers are very good…and some are far-off center.
I would write/email the manufaturer/designer first. I have designed cross stitch for a long time and ocassionally get a request for a lost color key or part of a chart. I am honest and rarely have ever felt that someone was trying to get something for nothing. After all, I loose things, too.
Contact whoever, be clear in asking, tell them what happened, and be very clear what you are asking for–and do let them know you bought the kit! I hope they will be able to help.
If that doesn’t work, look for the needlework groups and send out a plea asking for what you need. Someone may respond.
You can also check the website of the manufacturer; once in awhile a chart is offered for download-and with a whole lot of luck, yours might be there–or maybe something you can work with.
I know how frustrating this situation can be (I once lost the draft to a design that took forever to create and it took forever to recover the color key!!!)
              Good luck!
              Hope it works out.
